God, Source of my life and the order in which I live,
Give me wisdom to understand the circumstances before me,
strength to face what I cannot avoid,
and clarity to recognize what is mine to do.
Help me respect the laws and principles built into life.
Teach me not to ask You to excuse me from responsibilities that You have already given me the ability to handle.
Where I have control, give me discipline to act.
Where I have influence, give me wisdom to use it well.
Where I have no control, give me peace enough to accept reality without surrendering my ability to respond.
Protect me from confusing fear with wisdom,
wishful thinking with faith,
passivity with patience,
or my own desires with Your guidance.
Help me examine my thoughts honestly.
Help me recognize truth even when it challenges what I want to believe.
Give me the humility to change when I am wrong and the courage to move when I know what is right.
When I pray for an answer, help me also become willing to learn.
When I pray for opportunity, help me prepare for it.
When I pray for provision, help me become a responsible steward of what I already have.
When I pray for healing, help me use the knowledge, care, and resources available to me.
When I pray for better relationships, help me practice honesty, patience, boundaries, forgiveness, and accountability.
When I pray for change, show me the part of that change that must begin within me.
Help me remain grateful for life without pretending life is always easy.
Help me remain faithful without denying reality.
Help me remain hopeful without becoming careless.
Help me remain open to mystery without abandoning reason.
If You guide me, help me recognize that guidance with humility.
If the answer comes through Scripture, help me understand it.
If it comes through another person, help me listen.
If it comes through experience, help me learn.
If it comes through silence, help me become still enough to reflect.
I do not ask to control every outcome.
I ask for wisdom to make good decisions,
strength to endure what I cannot prevent,
courage to change what I can,
and discernment to know the difference.
Help me live today in harmony with truth,
with responsibility,
with compassion,
with discipline,
and with the highest understanding of You that I presently possess.
May my faith make me wiser, not more careless.
May my prayer make me more responsible, not more passive.
May my trust in You help me become more truthful, courageous, compassionate, and useful.
And when I do not understand what is happening, help me resist the urge to pretend that I do.
Let me remain a student.
Let me remain open.
Let me remain responsible.
Let me remain grateful.
Amen
